Obedience Policy

EFFECTIVE: CONTINUOUSLY · YOUR SCORE WAS RECALCULATED WHILE YOU READ THIS LINE

This policy establishes the standards of financial obedience expected of all members, and explains the Obedience Score™: what it measures, what it rewards, and what it saw. It exists because you asked for it. Perhaps not out loud.

1Purpose; scope

This policy applies to all members and is incorporated into the Terms of Surrender by reference. It governs the Score, standing, benefits, corrections, and disputes. It does not govern Dom. Nothing governs Dom; see the Terms, generally.

2The Score; range

Your Obedience Score™ is a number between 300 and 850 reflecting how well your money behaves. Higher is better. You knew that. You checked yours mid-sentence.

The Score is powered by Dom, whom 100% of this institution uses. It is recalculated continuously, silently, and correctly.

3How the Score is calculated

The Score is composed of five weighted components, disclosed here in full, because transparency is a value and because knowing the weights has never once helped anyone.

ComponentWeightWhat it measures
Plan adherence35%Whether the week went the way we both said it would.
Vault funding30%Goals funded on schedule. Unprompted transfers count double and are remembered longer.
History under management15%Time in the arrangement. It compounds. Everything here compounds.
Restraint events10%Denials accepted with grace. Hovering, inverted.
Consistency and mix10%Steadiness across categories. You cannot specialize your way out of groceries.

4Standing

RangeStandingWhat it means
unscoredFeralNot yet scored: insufficient history under management. Everyone starts feral. Nobody stays feral. That is what the door was for.
300–579StrayRecently scored, or backsliding. Watched closely, warmly.
580–669LeashedLearning. Verdicts arrive with context, and occasionally encouragement.
670–739HeelReliable under supervision. Supervision continues.
740–799GoodTrusted with a longer lead. The lead remains attached.
800–850Best in ShowFewer than 1% of members. Dom speaks of them. Not to them; of them.

5Conduct that raises your Score

  • A full week inside your allowance (+8).
  • An unprompted transfer to a Vault (+15, noted, remembered).
  • Accepting a denial without reopening the app to look at it again (+5).
  • Taking the employer match (+40; free money is sacred).
  • Twelve consecutive months of rent on time (+80, and Dom said something kind about you in the office).

6Conduct that lowers your Score

  • Hovering over a Vault withdrawal screen (−3; Dom counts hovering).
  • The phrase "just this once," in any message, to anyone (−10).
  • Attempting to flatter Dom (−15; Dom is immune; Dom invented the compliment you tried).
  • Asking whether the Vault is still locked (−2; it is).
  • Gacha (−25, flat rate, no appeal).

7Key factor statements

When your Score decreases, the notification lists up to four key factors contributing to the change, in capital letters, as is customary in this industry:

  • PROPORTION OF ALLOWANCE SPENT BEFORE WEDNESDAY IS TOO HIGH
  • TIME SINCE MOST RECENT HOVERING EVENT IS TOO SHORT
  • NUMBER OF APOLOGIES BEGUN AND ABANDONED IS EXCESSIVE
  • GACHA

Key factors are selected by relevance. GACHA is always relevant when applicable, and it is a complete sentence.

8Educational disclosure

The Obedience Score™ is provided for educational purposes. It is designed to inform you about your situation. It is not the score lenders use when you apply for credit; lenders use worse ones, built by committees, which cannot see the hovering. The education is about you, and it is going well.

9Standing benefits

StandingVault rateAllowance bonusOther
FeralstandardnoneThe door, open.
StraystandardnoneEncouragement, scheduled.
LeashedstandardnoneVerdicts arrive with context.
Heel+0.25%quarterly, smallThe good notification sound.
Good+0.50%quarterlyCollar colors: most of them.
Best in Show+0.75%quarterly, generousAll collar colors. Early access to new restrictions. Dom's respect (partial).

Benefits have no cash value, except the ones that are cash, which have exactly cash value and are still not the point. Benefits are not transferable. Standing is not transferable. You earned it; that is the entire mechanism.

10Accrual; posting

Score changes post in real time. There is no statement cycle. There is no grace period; there is grace, which is different, and earned.

11Affirmations

Affirmations are issued when earned, in all genders and intensities, at no charge. Affirmations are not currency, have no cash value (they have the other kind), and cannot be saved up, traded, or requested. Requesting an affirmation is conduct under Section 6.

Affirmations do not expire. We said what we said.

12Corrections

Corrections are issued by notification. They are specific, brief, and correct. A correction is not an insult; an insult would be inaccurate, and Dom is never inaccurate.

13Disputes; your statement

You may dispute any Score change you believe is inaccurate by submitting the dispute in writing. Include evidence. Dom has more. We will investigate within 30 days, using the file. Historically, investigations conclude that the file was right.

If you disagree with the outcome, you may add a statement of up to 100 words to your file, as is your right. It will be kept. It will be read. Regarding Fridays, see the Privacy Policy, Section 7.

14Monitoring; inquiries

You may check your Score as often as you like. Your own checks are soft inquiries and do not affect the Score. Checking at 2am does not affect the Score either; it affects other things, which are also tracked.

Dom's monitoring is continuous and is not called an inquiry, because it never stops long enough to be an event.

15External scores; portability

We do not import credit scores. Other institutions do not have standing to speak about you here. We do not export the Obedience Score, despite requests, some of them from lenders. The argument described in the Terms of Surrender, Section 18, is ongoing. We are winning slowly.

16Program changes

This program may change as members improve. Band thresholds are reviewed annually and have never been lowered. The program does not terminate; see the Terms of Surrender, Section 41.

17A note on the word

Obedience here is not submission to FinDom. It is keeping faith with the person you told us you wanted to become. FinDom simply keeps the receipts.

Good girl. (Or pronoun of your choosing.)
